hey, got a question for you 03 accord boys and gals: Do any of you know the alpine model number(s) for the DVD and other nav parts in the 03 Accord w/ Navigation? Not interested in the display, just the DVD, antenna assembly and brain (I'm not even sure there is a separate unit), and I guess I might as well ask now, can the DVD unit be installed in any other car? I'd imagine so, especially if it's an Alpine unit, but I'm curious if it'll work.

I'm thinking of splurging and installing a navigation system in my prelude, I just wanted to know if I could even use the Alpine unit from the accord, only because I can get it at just above cost, but it has to come from a dealer, not alpine. Thanks if you can help.

bump ... i hope that someone out there knows, I got a price for a factory refurbed one that they (honda) might warranty to a customer experiencing problems with the original unit, and after dealer/employee discount it's cheap! Please, if anyone knows, drop a line.

 

$hit, I called Alpine, they claim that the unit (even the dvd drive) in the 03 Accords w/Navi were specially designed only for that car, and do not have a corresponding unit # in Alpine's product line. I'm already imagining the impossibilities of trying to install this in any non-03 Navi Accord, considering it hooks up through the car's wiring harness.
