How can you say test driving an Accord feels the same as a TSX? Its basically like getting in a Prelude from driving an Accord, if you cant feel a 55hp difference you must be slow.

was that directd to me?
well both cars are slow....thats the point.
a tsx weighs in at a porky 3300+ lbs.
the accord was about 500lbs lighter.
anyway both cars to me are slow and so are preludes in general.

i went from a 5th gen lude to a 03 accord sedan and i was disappointed obviously. i thought i needed the sedan but know i think i could have managed with the coupe. i think the 6 spd would begood for you with some neuspeed sportlines and shocks when they come out.

I can't believe I'm hearing people call the TSX slow and under powered, what is this board smoking?

Compared to the K24 the H22 is an anceint engine, it was Honda's most polluting engine until dropped from the line-up. Pollution is relative here. All H22's suffered from massive carbon deposits and a slight oil consumption issue when hammered hard. It was a fine engine for it's debut in the 90's. But as Honda developed the art of high-hp 4's the design of the blocks/heads changed. Everyone loved the h22 vtec kick when it debuted but this kick was eventually 'fixed' in later Honda engine designs which really improved controling the throttle input for the driver.

Saying the Prelude is a better performance car then the TSX is absurd? I love the Ludes and all older Hondas but the Lude was some what hampered by a too short strut condition up front causing the car to unsettle somewhat when pushed hard in the corners compared to other smaller honda coupes of its day. You really have to be careful when lowering one as more harm then good can be done. The point being the new TSX or RSX both fit the bill better now, then the older Lude does.

I'm not downing the Lude, so I hope no one gets that impression but the TSX is an awesome car. If you found it disappointing you really need to give it a second drive. It's missing a great deal of the dartiness the prior VTEC cars use to have it really takes to the driver inputs well.

Or if they would offer the 200hp RSX engine in the Civic Si
They offer the 200hp i-vtec in the new civic type-r unfortunately as most badass hondas they don't seem to make it to our continent. I saw the type-r civic in Poland and it was quite impressive. I don't think Americans would buy a car such as that, so it justifies why they don't sell them here. Its an expensive compact car that wouldn't go well with Americans. Who would pay +$20k for a civic.

Back to the question. You will be very satisfied with your accord and good suspension. If u add a little under $1k to your accord it will be an amazing handler. Well thats 1k without rims.

Thanks all, I really appreciate the inputs

What I'll probably do is get the 6 spd coupe and then later order some struts, sway bars, springs for it. I heard the TL with 6 spd gets a wider wheel and tire package than the Accord 6 spd. That should be an easy mod and I might do that right away. Order the wheel/tire package from Acura and install on the Accord. I'll still keep the wheel/tire setup from the Accord and install that during winters as its all season package and use the TL stuff during the snowless part of the year.

The thing that bothers me though is that they should offer this good suspension stuff on the Accord 6 spd. If they have it for the TL it would not be hard for Honda to Put It On the Acccord Coupe. Even if it raised the price by $1K, to me it would be woth it.
