For a good explanation of offset, check here:

For your wheels you are looking at, what is the diameter and width?

What is your suspension setup?

Depends on those questions...but I think you'll want to go with 48.

I guess +48 would be cool to have if you are dropped low with rear camber correction

If you can get the 48, get it, that'd be great.

If not, try for a 45. But yes, I know it sucks trying to find anything higher than 42. I just replaced my 18's recently and that was my main criteria, to retain the 18x7.5 45 offset, and I found that just like searching for my original wheels 2.5 years ago, there were still limited selection that were 45 or higher and still fit my bolt pattern. I know it can be frustrating.

What is your suspension setup?

I have a couple friends with pretty much the same suspension as me, with some uncorrected neg camber like me, with 42 offset, and they all rub slightly. I've never rubbed with my 45 offset wheels, but probably would if I corrected the camber back to spec. It's not seriously bad, so I leave it, rotate regularly, and survive.

If you can get those 48 offset wheels and get a camber kit for at least the rear, you should be fine, you'll get plenty of wear out of your tires.

What wheels are you looking at that came in 48 offset? I'm just curious.

I also want the same suspension set up

Right now, my 18x7.5" +43mm wheels with 225/40-18 tires in stock height rub when I have 2+ passengers and me in the car, only when I go over big dips. I talked with 99AznAccord here:

http://www.honduh.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1867

Apparently he has the same wheel+tire setup as mine, and his rubbing was reduced after he got H&R Sports, AND rear camber correction. IMO, the rubbing right now isn't even that bad, and I have to hit a dip pretty damn hard to get it to rub when I'm by myself. If the rubbing is a problem after lowering, I'll get part of the bumper lip shaved, and maybe the fender lip rolled by this good local performance shop. Me lowering the car isn't going to happen for a long time, so I'll jsut have to sit tight for now...
