New Tire Review: Goodyear F1 GS-D3
So, I finally got my tires, replaced my Yokohama Parada Spec 1s...got myself some Goodyear F1 GS-D3s purchased, installed and warrantied from Discount Tire at Balboa in San Diego.
First off, I chose the tires after comparing with similiarily priced tires: Yokohama Paradas, Yoko ES100s, even considered some Kumhos, but after reading the reviews at tirerack.com, I had to find myself some F1s. For reference, if you look at the rankings for Max Performance Summer Tires, the F1s ranked higher than the S-03 Pole Positions.
After driving on them for 2 days, I must say, they are some AWESOME tires. They are quiet when cruising and grip very strong on corners. I haven't really pushed their limits or even cornered them very sharply...trying to give them some break-in time and haven't had the chance to hit the mountain roads. But, mainly compared to the Paradas, they are very smooth riding, quiet and perform just as well (if not better). I haven't had a chance to drive them in the rain, but if the other reviews are correct, they should handle wet roads without any problems. (The Paradas sucked more than anything on wet roads...hydroplaned easily and were crap on wet accelerations)
The Deal: $800. So I got basically the complete package with these tires. Tires, lifetime balancing and rotating, valve stems, installation, and Discount Tire's extended Road Hazard warranty. I recommend the Road Hazard because if there is still 3/32 left on them and anything happens to the tires that they can't fix, they replace with a brand new tire for free. Regular warranty only prorates what's left so you end up paying for the replacement.
So, I know this probably doesn't apply just to accords, but I post here so whatever. If anyone's looking to get tires, I recommend these...you can't go wrong. If you're in the SD area, go to Discount Tire in Balboa, ask for Genaro and say you heard of my deal, he'll hook you up too.

Yea, Goodyears are good stuff...I just found out that they are made in Germany...awesome stuff. Apparently, they were tested in Germany and been in Europe for a while before they brought it over to the states. Jump on this deal guys...major clearance on tirerack...and Discount tire is matching the pricing.
