Default Want to swap in 00-02 AV6 engine into 98 AV6

I basically want to keep my 98 AV6 for a long time, because the next car I get I want to buy cash, so my mileage is going to be high in a couple of years. Can I swap in a 00-02 AV6 engine without much trouble? Or possibly a TL-S/CL-S engine?

I don't see why not. The TL-S/CL-S swap should take some more work...

Isn't the 00-02AV6 engine the same as the 98AV6 engine? Just swap the TL-S, CL-S or 7th Gen AV6 into it...J30A2, J30A4...

dont expect your current engine to just fall apart/stop working... take care of it... and you wont need to replace the engine until your ready to buy the next car.

I would think that things like ur cv joints and transmission would fall apart quicker than ur engine.... By the time the engine fails ur car would be complete crap unless u drive it very agressively. Save the money for ur new car.

Thanks guy for the input! I recently have been looking for a new car, but the cars that I want are crazy expensive (M3, Supra Twin Turbo, G35). I just want to add more power to my car. I have not heard of anyone doing a camshaft swap into a 98 AV6 because I know it's harder to do than in the 00-02 models. How about a supercharger? Is it still not worth the money?

My car has 125k. Engine is in perfect condition. I can tell that the tranny is gonna blow way before it does.
