Default quick question about port and polishing

Cool,

I finally got my civic (95 EX coupe)
it already has i/h/e. I will be putting a b16a3 in it in the next couple weeks.

I was wondering what kind of costs and hp gain I am looking at to port and polish the head, intake, headers and throttle body?

or should i just turbo the stock engine with 119K?

(p.s. I did search quite thoroughly before asking this)

I'd expect at least $1000 for port and polishing the head.

haha, little bit more than i expected but that's fine.

what kind of performance gain would i see?

it's either port and polishing this thing like crazy or having my friend swap a b18c1 into it for $3500 (parts and labor)

I'd say a decent amount of gain. Swapping a b18c1 in is better.

it shouldn't be nearly that much for just the head. You could probably get the head, intake mani, exhaust mani and throttle for that price.

I'd expect a good 20hp from all that. It'll all be at the top of the powerband, though. Some good cams would help you extract the full potential though
