I mean if you have a shit load of time and know your way very well around your vehicle I guess you could go obd-2..but why??
Yea, I guess you're right on that part. But is there anything that could happen to the engine with it sitting there for awhile. I mean, just in my mind a 2000 engine is probably in better working order than a 95. Maybe I'm just being picky

Yeah, there is no real problem with older JDM imports.

Get a JDM B16A SiR II motor, all problems will be solved.

I've seen alot of write ups on how to drop in a B16A2 (Does that mean it's SiR II?, And B16A1 would be SiR I?) . Anyways most of them are talking about EG's that's the chassis code right? Well mine is an EJ1, would a B16A2 bolt up into my EJ1?

B16A is anything from Japan.

B16A1, A2, A3, etc. are export market engines. If it has a number after the A, it is not JDM. SiR and SiR-II engines are both stamped "B16A"

Also, EG is a Japanese chassis code for the SiR-II amoung other things. This info applies to any 92-95 Civic chassis, including yours.

SiR II meaning, you'd want the SECOND generation B16 so you will have no issues regarding the transmission and the ECU.

how hard is it to wire from OBD-1 to OBD-2?

Just curious.

Only because there is a shitload more of aftermarket parts for the 1999-2000 Civic SI's, so I figure if I can get a b16a3 (i think? for 99-2000 SI's?) than i will have much more aftermarket parts available (turbos, superchargers, etc.)

I do like the idea that the 92-95 OBD-1 drops right in, but I don't know anyone who makes street turbo kits or superchargers?

I'm looking to get this engine to around 250HP. What should I do with my car?!?!? LOL

OBD-1 to OBD-2 would be very time consuming. There are some additional sensors and wiring changes, not to mention the ECU plugs and diagnostic connector. It would be better to purchase a OBD-2 harness than try and make one from a OBD-1. If you purchase a 2000 motor you should be able to swap over the exsisting engine harness with some minor extensions. Since your car is a DX you would have to add vtec soliniod, vtec oil pressure and possibly a knock sensor to your harness and ECU plugs, which is simple. Use what you have and remember to keep it clean and simple.

It's the same engine. The reason they are marked for that car is because it is in a different chassis.

Anything that will bolt to the B16A3 will bolt to any other B16A, however it may need some modification to fit your chassis.

Awesome, so the Vortech supercharger and aftercooler will fit onto that engine? that makes it pretty easy...

even air intakes or cams and adjustables? that kind of stuff? is all interchangable as long as it doesn't mess with the chassis?
