Only prob with having too sensitive an alarm is that you're likely to get way too many false alarms. The new neighbors across the street have a Kia Rio with an alarm that goes off ALL the time. It almost might be a good thing if it gets stolen... h: Almost. But if a car false alarms too much, even the owner might not give a true cause credit.

Turns out my neighbor's car was broken into too... the popo came to take prints on his, but didn't get any. I saw them out front and asked them to print mine too (they were two hot femcops :naughty: ) and they got hella prints on the passenger window, which is good. So basically, if they have this guy's prints on file, he's nailed. If not, then :dunno:

thanks again!

hopefully he's on record

Cut your trunk release cable. Disabling that thing keeps someone from popping the trunk, and gaining access to your vehicle without the alarm sounding.

I've watched someone coat-hanger that thing before on an integra. If it were cut, they'd have been SOL. You can still get into the trunk with a key. If you get a trunk popper on your alarm, then by all means remove that thing entirely.

As for riveting amps to things... Don't bother doing it unless you're riveting it to a solid structural part of your car. Fook: If I were a thief, I'd take the whole seat-back. I don't think I'd use tools to carefully remove it, either.

I rely on the old stereo-ain't-worth-stealing routine. Use your stock deck, and make the rest of your system totally invisible. If you ever let anyone but yourself work on your car, pull all the fuses from your amps so that it doesn't work, and remember that the 1 gauge wire kit under your hood is a direct giveaway that there's something worth stealing in your car.

I never give my address to any mechanics or service centers. I give them a fake if they demand it. There was a Jiffy Lube here in Richmond that was busted for what CivicSiRacer was describing.

My windows are tinted, not to keep eyes off of my factory deck, but because I don't want to be recognized driving this busted-ass fart box.

Because when I used to go to high shool and live with my parents, every time I would walk home from the train station, I would get things shouted at me like, "Go home, gook!" and, " are you lost?" THe very FIRST day i take my car to my parents house, it gets bricked. Jus saying, i know I may sound like some super liberal PC beatnick, but the vandalism WAS racially provoked. Its just a shame that even in our modern day society, there are major hinderances such as these. Whatever tho, replaced the window for <$50.00
