Hmm, I think something is wrong with your torque converter. It's possible that the overrevving clutch is worn. I could be wrong though but what happens when it is worn is that, it takes longer for you to accelrate because it isn't grabbing onto the turbine. The turbine in the torque converter is what turns the input shaft. When you're in 3rd gear, what rpm are you at? Which clutch did the shop say was bad? If it is your torque conveter, you can fix the torque conveter if it's bolted together, if it's welded together, you just have to replace it.

Older automatic trannies have torque converters. Newer ones don't necessarily have them.

hmm, i think the shop said it was a low somethign clutch
I wasnt paying attention cuz the dude look like he don't know nothing about hondas. If i replace just the torque converter how much do you think that would run? I could get it checked by honda for $80, but thats also $80 more saved up for my new tranny. BTW is the JDM tranny any different from the USDM?

No reverse at all either. But if it is the torque converter, how would I be able to tell? I have school nextweek and I need to get it done, also how long would it take to
A) replace the tranny
B)replace the torque converter

What mite it cost for labor for the torqueconverter repair or replacement. It would probably be hard just to buy the torqueconverter, they normally sell that with the tranny right?

Probably low reverse clutch. Torque converters aren't that cheap and now come to think of it, it's probably not your problem. I think the cheapest thing to do is get another low mile, used tranny. Removing your transmission, actually transaxle isn't too bad if you're mechanically inclined. What's the hardest task you've ever done on a car?

Well, i think i can do anyting aslong as i have a good shop manual and tools. Which i dont have either. hehe, the hardest thing i'd ever done was either changing the spark plugs on a Nissan Frontier, (omg those things have horrible spark plugs placement), changing the shoes out in drum brakes, or replacing the Drive Shaft on a Old Dodge Van.
