mine went bad b/c the lower altenator bolt fell out (seems to be a common prob on hondas according to the dealer). the alternator was on crooked and the bearing failed. i got a rebuilt one @ pepboys for $120 after core

you know, ive never heard of it happening to anyone i know, and i know pleanty of people that have 150kmi on stock motors. i guess you could just replace the bolt and nut with some grade 7 or 8 hardware from ace or something. 10mm bolt about 4" or so long
