Default 99-00 Civic Bumper

I've been looking in the forums and on the internet and I can't find what I am looking for. I'm trying to find out whether a 99-00 front bumper will fit on a 96-98 Civic. Do I need any supports, or new fenders or headlights for that matter. Any and all responses are greatly appreciated.

you need the fenders, hood, front bumper, grill and the headlights. you will have to trim about 1" off each side of the rad support that holds the bumper between the headlights and drill new holes for the 2 clips.

Me and a friend have personnally just finished the exact same project. We installed a 99-00 front end on a 98 Civic EX coupe.

Yes as stated above you will need not only the front bumper but both rt and left fenders, hood grill (which we actually replaced with an Si grill), and the headlights.

The only modification to the conversion is to trim the radiator support on both sides on top of the bumper. We used a dremel and simply cut a notch about 1-1/2" into the bumper. It is not noticeable at all from the outside, and even if you look under the hood, it looks as if it was designed like that.

Hope that explanation gives you a good idea. Its really not much work just time consuming. We got it done in a total of probably 6 hours. All the parts came to be almost $1k and they weren't OEM Honda except for Si grill..

Good luck.

Well, lets just say we weren't always focused on the task at hand. We hands friends over while we were doing it, and we also did it over 3 days so we were far from efficient. We had to consult the Helms on the side skirts and tons of clips were snapping. We were taking it as slow as possible.

Wait a minute NeverBX, did you do a 99-00 front end and the put a ABS plastic Mugen lip on??

yes i did my friend. and i know what you mean about the side skirt clips, i even tried using the screwdriver for the good ones and it just stripped the heads so i just popped them out and put new ones in.
