go to crutchfield and input your vehicle, it will give you a listing for a wire kit that will let you hide your head unit somewhere else in the vehicle (mine's under my passenger seat)--if you completely remove the head unit and do not use a wiring harness--you will loose both your remotelock and dome lights

spend the 15 bucks to get the harness, its worth it

Yea, you do have to keep your original head unit somewhere in the car. And I believe you still have to keep a few wires plugged into it.

its only because the keyless entry is wired in with your stock headunit

yes, we did cover this. If you are going to get rid of the stock keyless remote, you can still fix your dome light problem. Really easy to fix. You have to splice two wires together to solve your dome light issue. Do the search. I don't remember which two. It is a very ez fix. You dont even have to keep the Honda HU in the car at all.

This domelight problem. It's been a long time since I changed the head unit , but did the domelight come on when you unlock the doors?

LEt mE cover this for U

U can KEep the Factory Head UNit INside of the 96-98 dashes
u need to buy a "T" connector from circuit City. 17 bux.

then u plug in the head unit. (U have the whole middle dash out anyways) but u do it from UNDERNEATH ie where the power outlet is. then u SLIDE it up into the dash. IT WILL FIT. then u put the new stereo in up top.

easy as pie. should take u hour or so to take dash out and get everything out and in and dash back in.

I can do whole thing in bout 20 min

ask if u need anymore help
