Default How to make a SOHC VTEC pull like a DOHC VTEC

hello and thanks for your help... I am purchasing a 1995 honda civic ex
and it comes with a SOHC VTEC engine with a manual transmission.. i was
thinking about doing a b16a motor swap but that would cost me around
$1,500... and the reason why i want the swap is to feel that strong pull when the
VTEC kicks in at a certain RPM... my question is... is there anything I can do
to make my SOHC VTEC pull like a DOHC without having to do the motor
swap? Help would be appreciated.. Thanks alot!

if you go for a swao go for at least a b18c1, b16 is doodoo to me. too many sohc vtecs can pull on them.

impossible. you would need to gut the interior which probably only weighs 80lbs max for the front and rear seats. take out the windows and door panels will take off another 50. the dash, and the misc consoles will shave another 20. = only about 150lbs.
