Default Exhaust Header

I have been looking through this forum the last few days and I have come across some different opinions, I was wondering if a header on a 2000 civic Si would gain that much horsepower or not since it already supposedly had high flow exhaust. If I did get one is it ok for a car that is a daily driver.

P.S. what is better 4 into 1 or 4-2-1

yes. a 4-1 is good for high range power, its only pratical in racing applications IMO, and 4-2-1 is good for low-mid range which is good for daily driver. i think its low-mid range :dunno: it goes something like that. someone correct me if im wrong

I have owned both the 4-1 and 4-2-1. I prefer the 4-1 on my B-series motor because I feel like I get more power out of it. The clutch/flywheel I have are all I need for my low end and when I'd run my car at the track with the 4-2-1 I had NO top end at all.

4-2-1 is more practical, but you have a B-series so I'd go with the 4-1.

Ok, I might sound stupid, but what do 4-1 and 4-2-1 mean on the headers???

header.. no s.. it's singular.

A 4-1 means that you have 4 cylinders thus you have 4 exhaust ports on your head. You bolt your header to your head at these 4 ports. That is where the 4 comes from. (not being an ass.. you asked)

The header then bends around and comes to a single collector that meets up with your cat.

The 4-2-1 wraps around and becomes 2 pipes and then 1 at the collector into the cat. Making it 4 pipes to 2 pipes to 1 pipe.

hih

Hey, when you find a performance "turbo header", LET ME KNOW!! I've been looking for one FOREVER! I can't seem to find one, though... Could it be that they DON'T EXIST??
