Falken Azenis'.
$77 at vulcantire.com in the 16's

Great grip. lasts a while as long as you have good camber.

http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_t.htm Buy'em there

tread pattern reflects on how big of a contact patch you end up getting, plus the added coolness

What about Falken Azenis? They grip like a mother, and the sidewalls are so stiff that it makes cornering dreamy.

I really need to get tires for my new 16s, but I really can't decide on what I want.

I was looking at the Falken Ziex ZE-512

Specs:
Treadwear: 360
Traction: A
Temperature: A
Speed Rating: HR

Price: $79.00 (www.tires.com)

The only thing is that they're H rated... I realize that I won't be going above 130mph often, but it still makes me wonder.

The other that I'm looking at are the Nitto NT NeoGen VR

Specs:
Treadwear: 280
Traction: A
Temperature: A
Speed Rating: VR

Price: $83.00 (www.tires.com)

And finally the Yokohama Parada Spec-2

Specs:
Treadwear: 300
Traction: A
Temperature: A
Speed Rating: VR

Price: $96.00 (www.tires.com)

I want something with a high enough tread rating so that I can daily drive and go to the strip now and then without having to replace them after 6 months. I also decided that I really want 205/40s and each of these meet that requirement.

Finally, I need something that does well in the rain cause it rains like crazy down here...

Please post your thoughts and feedback.

Thanks!
Unfortunately, I don't have direct experience with any of those tires but here are just a few words of caution...
Nitto NT NeoGen VR - :ugh: I lost all respect for Nitto a couple years ago thanks to their horrible NT450s. People say their 555 tires were ok though so maybe these won't leave you sliding around.

Falken Ziex ZE-512 - In the past, people have said Ziex line = to Nitto NT450. I'm curious to hear reports from others though if this is a newer tire.

Yokohama Parada Spec-2 - It seems like everyone hates on the original Paradas. Does anyone have the Spec-2? They supposedly used a stickier compound for these but I wonder if that helped at all.

i have right now the 195-60r14 512s in my car and they grip real good. i had the 502s and those are a POS.

i ordered for my rims tho, Kumhos 712 for $60 a tire. 205-50r15.

Slightly improved.... you can slightly improve crap and have it still be crap. The 2 biggest design parameters were looks and long life, (much like the first one). The compound was a little softer, but not much.

Not to be too gung-ho or anything... you could just buy so much better with less money... not really a performance tire. Theres definitely much better to be had for far less money.

I love my Ziex's. I got then from Vulcan tire for 51 a peice but those were 205-50-15's. They grip better in the dry and wet unlike the Azenis. My freind had them on his rims and said they suck in the rain.

Josh, I have both of those tires. I have the 512's in 205/50/15's and the Parada Spec II's in 205/45/16's. They are both very good tires. If you're looking for a real good daily driven tire, you can't beat the 512's.

I would personally steer clear from the Nittos. Just like another member said, after the 450's, I've lost all respect for Nitto.
