I dunno about elsewhere, but here in Boulder, the cop never has time to go to stupid court hearings. Sure, he could be there, but I seriously doubt he WILL be there.

I had to go to court one time. I got pulled over for not having my face sheild down on my helmet. (i was ridding on my motorcycle). I had to go to court because I didn't have my licence on me. It cost me $125 just for the court cost. I pled guilty though. The judge charged me $5 + the court cost.

actually, the way i understand it is the cops are on rotation, some time on the street ticketing you, and then they match that all up with like a day in court... you legally are allowed to face your accuser in court.

in nova, they always seem to show up at court. so go, dress business casual so you don't look like a punk. Present your case with the witness and thats that.

lie if you want imo. I got a ticket for "crossing a solid white line" i pleaded not guilty to this rediculous charge and I pled my case first... then he came up and told a completely different story talking about cutting someone off. or what not.. they're just as corrupt as you wanna be

actually in NJ when you go to court for somethign like this... you don't EVER see the cop, or talk to the judge till WAY later.. MOT traffic courts you talk to the prosecuter... or at least you should.. tell him your story bring your friend.. the prosecuter is the man in traffic court he runs ****.. he decides b4 court if the state even has a case.... if you go up to him and say.. i understand the officer was doing his/her job, and MAYBE from where they were it LOOKED like i was driving TOO close, but i was not. i also have the other person who was driving the vehicle i was suposedly tail gating with me today, and he will validate i was following well within reason. and really i THINK at least in jersey he would just throw it out, do you know if it is points.. because what you are discribing here in jersey is a serious offense.. tail gating is five points... you better do some digging and find out the severity of the charge b4 you go to court, and you BETTER bring that guy... and it would not hurt if there was a passenger in the other vehicle that also saw the whole thing....
