chrome rims

its not the weight of the wheel,...its the size of it,...the bigger the wheel,..the harder the motor has to push to turn them,...the weight of the wheel just makes the car heavier,...which you will need more power to move more weight,...BTW,...get ready to hear people give you shit for your rims,...chrome rims are looked down upon here at honda-acura.net,...~BLaNg BLaNg!!!!~
P.S. widebody kits are looked down upon here also,..but does it look like i care what people say? ,...whatever people say about your rims,.dont let that drive you away from the site,..you will learn alot from this site

The diameter of the wheel makes a large difference. I can't think of exactly how to explain it...the weight I'd think would strain your axles/tranny.

basiclly, the mass is forced to rotating at a faster speed the further out it is, since it has to cover more distance. With the weight further out, it makes it harder (maybe not anything big, but non the less) on the axle to spin the wheel. Its not really that its chrome or platinum or 24k gold. 17+ rims cause problems on civics. If you had some torque or heavy displacement (3.0+L) on the other hand, then go on ahead and ride on big rims.
