Most shocks will have a lifetime warranty as long as you don't lower it past a certain height, 1.5" sounds about correct.

I think that in time it will be more beneficial for you to go ahead and get shocks before you install the springs. Like they said, you could keep your stock shocks/springs for a later date or just sell them. Having an old shock is a lot better than having a blown shock :exnbp:.
