Default Will a 99 Sedan bumper fit a 97 Sedan?

Hey fellas...please don't string me up for this...I promise I searched. I read through 10 pages of "bumper" threads, and it seems like I've learned the headlights are different, so the fenders, hood, and bumper are different as well. But then I also read that it fits with the only modification being that you may have to adjust the bumper to accomodate the radiator support.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the 99 bumper will fit the 97 civic sedan?

If it needs adjustment...where on the bumper requires adjustment.

It's my wife's car. Needs a new front bumper and I like the 99 style better, and I'll buy that one if it's possible to make it work.

I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.

i have never heard of the 99-00 fitting on the 96-98 front end without the fenders or hood

you can do it somewhat on the 92-95's (with 2drs and 4drs) but never seen it with the 6th gens sorry

It will fit, but you need the fenders, headlights, bumper, hood, and possibly the radiator support. All from the same year.

it will fit, with a ton of unneccessary modifications...its not really worth it, unless your heart is set on it.

So I guess it's not worth it then.

Thanks for the responses.

will the sides go onto a 5gen ferio???if so then its possible with modifications

also like others have said,..the 99 front bumper will not fit unless you have the hood fenders and headlights to match,...you will NOT,..i repeat NOT need the rad support,...but if i was you i would just get another 97 front bumper,...cheaper then getting a complete 99 front end

very good question. i've been thinking the same thing recently. i think it would just be a matter of how long the sides were. i know you'd have to cut the 2/3dr ek sides to get them to fit on an eg. and you have to make different holes or something.

ek sides can be made to fit on a 5th gen
the 6th gen sides will be a little longer then the 5th gens so you have to cut from teh front
you also need to put in new mounting tabs so they fit into the slots on the car
