'94 Si: $1000 suspension doable?
'kay, I'm a newbie to the performance world of Civic's so that's why I'm asking for feedback.
A '94 Civic Si is my daily commuter that's almost completely stock except for wheels, Neuspeed upper strut bar and a DC intake. I'm more interested in performance and driveability than having a 2" drop (more like 1.25-1.5"max).
Just got 195/50/15 Goodyear F1's. Along with them came roll, nose dive, wheel lift, etc. Limitations of a stock suspension and 120k on the odometer.
Neuspeed has a Bilstein coilover kit for $700. Is it a good setup or is it more economical to get shocks and springs separately? If so, what kind.
I realize I desparately need anti-sway bars. Any recommendations on manufacture's or are they all about the same performance wise? Neuspeed worth considering?
Is $1000 enough for all this? If not I can always modify gradually. just tell me where to focus first. Remember, function first, style is secondary.
Thanks in advance for your responses!

$2000 is enough
not $1000, not if you want decent stuff, and you want it done right
first, get new springs and adjustable shocks, a camber kit, and keep an extra amount handy for an alignment. do these all at once to save yourself much hassel later
then worry about strut bars and sway bars

I agree with manincamo. Start out with possibly koni yellow's and neuspeed springs. Then get your alignment corrected. I prefer skunk2's camber kit, although it allows for more adjustability than you'll need. Ingalls will work fine for a 1.5 inch drop. The rear camber can be adjusted with longer bolts and a few washers.
Once you have that you can worry about a rear sway bar. An ITR rear sway bar would compliment the stock front nicely. The stock front should be large enough already. If you decide to use an ITR rear sway bar you'll need some integra rear LCA's.
Last but not least, Polyurethane bushings add a nice touch (if you can handle it).
Good luck!

Actually I spent $950 on my coilovers and that made a huge difference. Then spent $700 on labor to install my polyurethane bushings and that made a HUGE difference and my car only has 45K miles.

What's your take on PU bushings for a daily driver - how harsh does it make your car ride compared to the stock rubber POSs?
ThankX!

As far as the washers it depends on how much the car is lowered.
My coupe is lowered 2.25 inches. I used the factory bolts, and used 2 washers on each one. Visually I can tell a big difference, but I'm waiting to get it aligned to see if I need more.
As far as the Poly bushings, the ride is not as harsh as I was expecting. Definitely worth IMO. Of course GA. has some of the best maintained roads. I might not like them as much if I lived somewhere else.

Koni Yellows
GC or Skunk2 coilovers
Teggy rear LCA
ITR rear sway bar
Front camber kit
Rear washer trick
All this should be right around $1000 if you get a mix of some used and some new parts
