have your wheel bearings checked out.

 

any1 have a rough estimate of the cost of checking out the bearings? are they easy to replace?

 

you can repack bearings yourself, but its not something I personally would do, because I dont know how.

ive heard quotes as high as $300 a pair, (front two wheels)

 

Wow that's expensive. But my mom's old mini van had the same thing happen. There was no greese in the wheel bearing.

 

nobody wants to do it cuz it's a mess.

the bearings themselves i think are like 50 bucks a wheel or something.

 

i once had a rock stuck between my rotor and that plate behind it and it squeeled really bad. just a thought.

 

someone else had had the same problem and it turned out to be his dust cover, he just bent it out of the way from the rotor and it stopped

 

sounds like your brake pad is wearing out. I had the same problem and i thought something was wrong with the axle. The noise was especially bad in reverse. Check your brake pads, and replace em. Resurface your rotors while you do too, it will make a big difference.

 

thanks for the advice, its not the bearings according to my dad, and the brake pads are less than a month old. its neither... gotta go figure it out now

 

i think i figured out the problem...when i spin the tires while its jacked up they sound like the pads are rubbing the rotor...so im thinking its making the noise. i gotta check out my master brake cylinder tomorrow morning
