To turbo or not to turbo
I'm considering turbocharging my 1999 civic ex. The only downside is that its an automatic, but i've found a complete kit for only $1,500, including an intercooler. Should i do it?

If that kit is only $1500, you'd better do a little research. Find out what kind of turbo kit it is, who makes it, who drives it, and what their input is. Its possible to peice together a decent kit for $500, but the really good ones cost more like $3000. Just keep in mind, you get what you pay for.

is this a used kit? 1500 sounds about right for a new greddy kit but w/o FMIC. If it was a used greddy with the greddy FMIC i'd say 1500 is a bit steep, i'd say 1350-1400 max.
You most likely don't want a t3/t4 kit on an automatic d16 motor. I have an APEXi ihi ball bearing turbo and i'm really happy with it. I haven't pushed it past 10 psi yet. Even with an auto you should be pretty happy. Even 5 psi boost is insanely better than bolt ons but definetely get a torque convertor.
