Default burning smell--WTF?

I've noticed sometimes a burning smell when I run my car out to about 7000rpm or so and am on it kind of hard. It smells like something electrical burning, like when I wired up an amp wrong about 10 years ago. I only smell it as I'm driving. When I stop the car and shut if off, I don't smell anything. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Are you talking about my plug wires? Wouldn't it run bad if they were crossed?

That's what I thought. That hasn't happened. Also, I don't smell the funky smell all of the time, just sometimes when I get down on it.
