motor life would be an issue. maybe not a daily driver, but not a one-run motor either.

My 500 horsepower estimate was assuming he didn't rebuild it after every run.



With staged methanol injection and routine rebuilds I'm sure it could go a lot higher.

Streetable n/a on a liberal budget, you could probably get about 230 whp out of a (stroked) b16.
Streetable forced induction on a liberal budget, you could get about 3-400 out of a (turbo) b16.

Again... that is streetable. Gas millage, driveability, and reliableness are taken into account.

With a fair ammount of money, assuming you already had the (2nd gen)b16a... I would plan on spending about 2500 large on the head and cams, $1500 on the shortblock, and about $1500 on miscelaneous things like fuel injection, drivetrain, and electronics.
