hey my brothers wife's 2000 jetta has the same problem with the oil light coming on like that. it also has a service bulletin stating that it's normal for the car to consume oil. Hers is a 5 speed and you can also start up her car, with it in 1st gear, and not have to put your foot on the clutch. DOH, guess VW screwed up on that one. Anyways back to civics, new SI isn't worth it, it felt underpowered to me.
