Default Head Compatablility?

Hey Everyone. I know your going to ask the question, why bother, but what would be the best head to swap on a D15B8 block? I am going to try and see how many ponies i can pull out of the old engine. I know its only pushin 70hp, but i got lots of faith in myself. Thanks!

The problem you're going to run into is that the pistons are only notched for an 8 valve head. Onless you slap in different pistons, you can't even put a B7 head on it, or a vtec head for that matter. If you do put the other pistons in, you could throw no a b7 head and get a crx si cam, or just throw a z6 head on... Worth it? not really. You'd spend more time and money than if you just slapped a d16z6 in it to begin with...

honestly, I'm not sure if all D pistons are the same, but any other 1.5l should work dandy, as long as it's a 16 valve. D15b7 being the closest donor.

so, do you think it would be possible to swap a B18B head onto the old little 1.5 without a machine shop?

No B head will fit any D block, or vice verse. If you make it work, I'll let my mom give you head. Plain and simple, can't be done without a ton of money... which you don't have, or else you wouldn't be thinking of keeping your d15...

They CX pistons will work with The DX head. I ahve done this and have not really ran into any problem. So for that only one is a CEL that wont go away. But if u up grade to the DX head you should upgrade the IM and the EH. The CX is tiny.
