Think of all the money you've wasted on service. Now take that amount and think of all the parts you could ahve ****ed up while learning and replaced for the same price. You'd be turboed, have some nice head work under your belt, and be known locally for having the balls to do something with your car. No longer the average riceboy.

A valve adjustment takes a feeler gauge, a 10mm wrench and a screw driver. If you can't handle doing it, you should be modding your car to begin with. I can't stand seeing people "modding" their cars, when modding means taking it to a shop and having Joe Schmoe do the work for them. I hate to sound like a fool from the fast the the furious, but someone put in the wrench time, and if it wasn't you that put in the majority of it, it's not your car.

Bakeoff, fool, give him a break . I don't think that he even wants to go there with his car. Now, I could see maybe watching the mechanic do it if they didn't mind, then maybe later down the road trying it for yourself. Some people aren't in the position where they can afford to be out of a car while they fiddle with it, and not to mention if you mess something up the time to get and replace the part. But, that's just yours and my opinion, to each his own.
Nice to see another Utah person though . I need to get my service BAD. You say it was ~$400 for the whole thing right?
