Default Engine running like crap

Today i was gonna to get some stuff and after all the hard rain, there was one spot that was flooded. I slowed down to about 15 and only about 1/2 throtle, then a truck passed me on my passenger side then right after he passed me my engine bogged down like anything, as in i had it in first and it wasn't moving much. but after about a minute it went back to semi normal, but now i have a loud clicking or knocking on the Valve train on the 1st cylinder. The engine isn't running with as much pull as it did b4 the water hit it. What could it be?? BTW it a D15B8 converted to a D15B7 (swaped the CX head with a DX one) Also it was smoking b4 (due to bad valve guides but after my the water thing it smoked even worse now and it smells like oil. Its light blue smoke.

Thank for the help
Patrick

Sounds like your burning oil to me. Knocking? Maybe the valves are hitting. Could be timing?

I have just a little experience with this h:

You may have done a lot of damage, but then again, you may not have done much at all. Water inside your motor is a very bad thing. If you're expereincing a loss of power and it's smoking a lot, you may have sucked water into your combustion chamber and cracked a piston or something. It's very possible considering all of your symptoms. Have you taken your #1 plug out and tried to look at your piston? That's what I would do. And I'd change my oil too. It's really hard to diagnose considering all of the possiblites with hydrolocking....
