Default Cracked windsheild! Urgent!

I have a llong crack running over half way down my windsheild. I am wondering: What are some good places, nation wide, to get my windsheild replaced for a good price without losing quality? Should I just go to my local body shop, import shop, or gas station shop? Is there anyone who can come to your house and do it, and still do a good job?

About how much should I expect to spend? Anything kind of windshield I shouldn't get?

Thanks!
Spike

So I guess I should call the insurance company and ask them?

Would insurance pay for it even though it wasn't in an accident? It happened due to age and LOW temps.

Still a valid reason to pick up the phone and call?

Default What's up?

Call your insurance company. Most policies (unless you have the bare bone liability only) have a glass policy. With my state farm setup, I have a $20 deductable to have chips fixed and $100 to have the whole windshield replaced (for a large crack). Any quality automotive glass place can probably fix it, I'd imagine your insurance company will recommend one. They can even probably come to your house and do it. Seeya.

yea..... you can drill a *really tiny* hole at the end of each crack to keep it from spreading. some ins. companies cover the windshield under road hazard or comprehensive
