I made a DIY mesh grill on my 98 Civic before but I had to cut out the center with a dremel. I think someone on this board said you can just unscrew the bolts and the middle piece just comes right off? I did this and more than just the middle piece comes off, the top part that bolts onto the chassis is also attached onto the middle piece. So how did you do it then? Here's a pic of a DIY mesh grill. I forgot whose car it was on this board, please help me out, I think your grill came out really clean.

 

BTW a friend gave me his OEM grill in the same color as my car so I'm going to attempt to try this again.
