My new system. Opinions please!

Re: My new system. Opinions please!
Well, I know it's to each his own, but Audiobahn? :ugh:
they sell brand-new audiobahn at pawn shops here :ghey:
but thats IMHO.
they usually over-rate both subs and amps. And like varyda said, I doubt you'll be running 1 ohm resistance. Do you know the ohm rating on the subs?
As for the Cap, I'd suggest a 1/2 Farad cap. The planned system isn't taking up that much power.
DVD play? Get a PS2.
6 disk changer = waste of money
Removalbe enclosure sounds like a bad idea for a few reasons. Small trunk opening for civics, and boxes weigh alot. What type of box do you plan on using? Bandpass? Ported? Straight?
Seriously, Audiobahn has to make some of the shittiest moble audio known to man, save Jenson and Koss :ugh:
Components are good. 6 1/2" speakers are a great size. for the front and rear deck, consider a 4 way amp as opposed to the 2-way, tho it won't matter all that much.
10 guage wires are fine as long as you're using them for the wires from the amps to the speakers. I'd go 4 or less guage for power.
Crossovers are unnessisary as long as you have a good headunit/amps. Also, they cause more problems in the form of alternator noise.
As a whole, you're gonna be running alot of crap. Look into Alpine, Kenwood, Rockford Fosgate Amps, Pioneer HU's, Infinity, MB Quartz. You know, REAL COMPANYS!

Audiobahn makes good crossovers, i don't recommend their woofers though. Or their speakers. Or their amps. Or their cables. I recommend their capacitors...because one company makes ALL capacitors, and sells them to company's to put their logo on it.

:werd: Also look into MTX, some of their highend stuff is pretty good and not to expensive.
......and get a linedriver.

Well, guess everyone thinks I'm going to get a fake company's crap. Oh well, if something better comes along, made by what you guys call a "real" company, then I may jump on it.
Thanks anyway!

Re: Re: My new system. Opinions please!
I'll just jump in and say that if you've heard a similar Audiobahn setup and you truly like what you hear for the price even after listening to the competition, go for it. If it's music enough for your ears, there's no need to pay for that extra mile that you don't care about.
10guage speaker wire? I don't doubt it at all for some systems but that's some serious speaker wire isn't it.
