Default Interior painting questions???

What do you think is the best method to paint the interior? Not the dash, but the Vents, Center Console, Door handles interior, etc.?
What brand of paint?
If a clear coat is needed?
How many coats etc.
Just looking for the heads up of what to look for and best technique if any. Thanks for the help.

any paint will apply well to the vents & door handles, just scuff it down with 320 grit paper and it will look fine after its painted. on some plastics, the texture isn't very good, and the paint won't stick in certain spots. I've painted everything you have mentioned on my previous cars, but have yet to mess with 93 integra.
if you decide to paint the dash..make sure you get vinyl paint, the good stuff is like $20 a can.
good luck with the painting.

I agree. Sanding is the MAJOR key to painting plastic parts. I went to Pepboys and used Vinyl paint for almost everything else. Then I bought some red vinyl material for like 3 bucks a yard and did the panels. The vinyl paint sticks really good since it bonds well to the vinyl of the doors, dash, etc. I did put a good amount of clear coat on the plastic parts after I painted, since I didn't do it the first time. I learned the hard way on how to properly paint plastic parts.

I don't think they are gay. I like my painted interior a lot better than the stock tan. I take care of my interior as well. No fading or chipping now. The vinyl is holding up just as good as when I put it on too. Paint and material still looks as good as it did a year ago.

Agreed.

Since I'm a mod, that means that my opinion is actually fact. So there you have it, don't waste your time :fawk:

btw: it doesn't matter if it cracks or peels... it STILL looks like ass, in my opinion - refere to above comment

just go get it dyed at any ulpostery shop. Its not that expensive and the color stays forever, looks cleaner, and will be SO much easier to maintian.

You can actually put armor all, Mcguires, etc on it and it won't rub away.
