what cars have vtec exaclty? just newer civ's? like a 99 civicEX with SOHC? does it have vtec?

maybe the new NSX is dohc..but in 91 they were sohc. and i still believe the new motors to be sohc.

 

My buddies 2000 civic EX has NO VTEC, not too sure about the 99 models.

 

All 2000 EXs would've come with VTEC. It might not say it on the valve cover, but it's VTEC. Wanna make sure? Check the block stamping – if it says D16Y8, then it's got VTEC.

LX and DX (D16Y7) isn't VTEC – maybe that's what he has.

Now, if he swapped in a B18B or a B20, then he wouldn't have VTEC.

 

i dont think honda makes a DOHC V6 engine.
