is the American honda made in the U.S? on mine usdm honda it says "Made in Japan"....does this mean that my honda was imported from Japan to the U.S??

 

I beleive if your VIN starts with a "J" then it was made in Japan and imported here, but I can't be too sure

 

American Honda use to import cars from Japan. My car (1992 Civic) was one of the last models that ever came from Japan. On the radiator support, there should be a black/gold sticker saying "made/assembled in japan".


from 1993+ a lot of civics were made and assembled in Canada or Ohio. I think the only cars that still come from Japan are the NSX, S2000 and Prelude. Im not too sure about Accords and Civics anymore.

 

the first of the vin will be a number.. 1 is US 2 is canada 3 is mexico and so on.. 4 i think is germany.. i may be wrong though

shouldnt really matter where its built. if its built in Japan and intended for the U.S. they still have to build it to pass specs.
