I dunno .. it could totally be something else. Bent valve, fried clutch, or worse. But those are pretty unlikely, and there's a pretty famous principle that says that whenever you have a problem, the simplest explanation is usually the right one (see Ockham's Razor ). Why go looking for a bigger problem when a 4-dollar bottle of injector cleaner might do ya?

like i said early that i was told it was a bent vavle and a clogged injector...i cleaned the injectors, and used cleaner for about a month. nothing changed. wont i be hearing metal or an unusual noise if it was? my clutch is pretty bad but its not horrible. why would that cause it. i do have another clutch sitting in my room, maybe it will be time for the change finally.

I only mentioned the clutch because you said it was jerking when you engaged it. I wondered if maybe the clutch wasn't disengaging properly, and that was holding the revs down (like sitting there with your foot only half on the clutch). That seems like a bit of a long shot to me, though.
If there's no roughness at idle, then I'd really stop looking at valves/plugs or anything cylinder-specific.
If it were a bent valve, it would only be affecting ONE cylinder, and so you'd hear an unevenness in the idle (a pretty obvious one at that). If the idle is smooth, you need to look at something that's affecting all four cylinders equally and simultaneously. And yes, if it were a bent valve, you'd more than likely be hearing something else along with the rough idle. Ticking/pinging of some kind.
From what you've said, the sputtering/jumping sounds like it's just due to low revving. That is, it sputters a bit cause it's idling at 300rpm instead of 800. And it jerks when you try to engage the clutch as though it's not getting enough gas. Would you say that's right? If that sounds accurate to you, then my vote's still on the fuel system. Filter first, then Pump, are the likely culprits. I'd still check the filter out before I go about replacing a clutch.
If you've been trying this for a long time and still not getting anywhere, it might be time to take it to a licensed mechanic. For a few bucks I'm sure he can diagnose the problem more accurately than some guy sitting on the other side of a computer can.

Sounds like a plug to me. Take them all out, and inspect them.
I had the same symptoms, and I thought I had some serious internal damage. I took out all the plugs once, and they all looked fine. Did a few more things, then inspected the plugs again. The ceramic had cracked on one of the plugs around the electrode.
It's not the fuel filter. And whoever paid $100 is crazy. You can buy one from the dealer for $30 or less, and change it yourself in 10 mins.
Does it smooth out when RPM's increase?
I'd be willing to bet it's a plug. Post the results.

most likely its the plugs and if its not the plugs it will be the wires if you have aftermarket ones. magnecores are known for cracking as well as accell wires. i had that problem too. my wires were cracked and one of my cylinders was sparking off cause the wire had a crack in it so the spark wasnt jumping in time.
if its not the wires or the plugs it might just be coil leakage. check the ignition coil.
check your cap and rotor as well might be as simple as that dude.
good luck

your filter COULD be worn as it won't send a consisent rate of fuel.
if you haven't replaced anything thats in a normal service rate (dist, plugs, filters) might as well do it now.
fuel filter is INCREDIBLY easy to do. you'll just ge ta lil bit of gas on u.
