Default Gauge cluster/check engine light ?????

i just put in a new gauge cluster in my 92 cx hatch and the check engine light wont go off. i was worried at first it might be something with my car but when i turned the key into accessories the light is off. and i also took the new one out and put the old one back in to see if it stayed on and it didnt. so it has to be something with the new gauge cluster. any ideas of why its on and how to make it go away? thanks for any help!

its for the same year, but my old one didnt have a tach and the new one does. the old ones light was on the top and the new one is bottom right side. why would that make a difference though? thanks!

There should be no reason to reset anything...I swapped clusters with out anything like that happening (other stuff happened but that was because I was trying to make an Integra cluster work on a Civic )

The position of the CEL light shouldn't matter at all
