i dont see how the b18c5 is over priced?

ive seen it for 4200$ while the going rate for b18c1's is around 3000-3300...

so better gearing, LSD, Friction coated internals, higher red line, higher compression, 20 hp more, blah blah blah isnt worth the 1300 to 1000$ ? i dont get it oh well

Read my post. I said "if you're going to be building the thing." If you're going to be buying aftermarket cams, an LSD, etc etc etc, there's no real reason to buy those parts in not as good versions already installed in the R motor.

I was actually talking about sleeving a VTEC B18 or B16B to 84mm and using an LS crank aand rods to get 2.0L of displacement. It's like building a B20/VTEC, but better in my opinion. Stock B20's are rated between 126 and 146hp, depending on the version you get. There is usually a lot of work that has to be done in order to build a B20/VTEC the proper way. Most people usually cut corners which leads to engine failure. If you sleeved a B18C/B16B to 84mm and ran an LS crank and LS rods, you would have the same bore and stroke as a B20, but you would already have the factory installed VTEC oiling components and a block girdle, things that usually aren't properly added to B20/VTEC setups.

I'd favor CTR.
