I would plug the orifice in the head. You don't want to risk it beign left open, since it could have an effect on your VTEC oil pressure. If the pressure in the VTEC plumbing isn't high enough, VTEC won't work.

I understand. I'm all to familiar with loosing VTEC oil pressure. Had a 97 Prelude that was good for it. That car used 1qt oil every 3000miles. I drove it hard, but no harder than any other car I've had. Anyway, I always knew when I'd corner hard and VTEC shut out.
