its a piece of foam that takes the place of a section of CAI. since the foam is hard it is easier for the engine to draw through the cone. if the cone fills with fluid though the pressure through the cone becomes tougher so the engine then draws through the foam instead.

its a good way to loose the hp you gained from the intake.

i kinda wonder about that.

its designed ok, i mean, that technology has proven itself in electrical circuit design, so i can see its application in fluid/thermal dynamics, but i always wonder.

if the foam breaks down, this would certainly become evident.

ok, so how does the bypass valve prevent from water injection? i see there is a spring inside, and some foam, but i just can't think of how it works.

thanks you.

the valve opens and draws air from within the engine bay. the water doesn't reach the valve.

also the sudden drop in tube pressure would theoretically release the water. once its again easier to draw through the tube the bay valve would automatically close.

it kinda sucks that you pay an extra $50 on top of the w/e amount the aems cost..they make you cut it in half and add that for the power gain of 0 hp...so you end up paying around what $250+ to have something shiney in your bay...thats some weakshiit. shiit ive seen people put it on the iceman...now wtf is the point of that? you have a shortram/cai system..why bother?
