Yes, you can change cluster and keep mileage.
I recently bought a new gauge cluster to install in my car. The new cluster had higher miles than my old cluster. I wanted to keep my mileage and found out that you can do it (I did).
Once you take the cluster out seperate the clear plastic from the base (3 tabs on top and 3 tabs on bottom). Flip the cluster over and you see 3 screws behind the speedometer, unscrew them and the speedo will come out. Do the same with the other cluster and youre done.
