I used some mesh from ace, i think it was meant to be used as a dog door (the ones that go in the bottom of your real door) because it had metal brackets around the outside. I like the size of the holes, you can almost fit a pen through them. Holds up pretty well too.

I cut my bumper out with a utility knife. The first time I did it, I used a Dremel, and it took forever. The utility knife works WAY better. Just leave it in the sun and let the plastic soften up a little first. Hell, if it's cold there, use a hair drier and it'll make it a lot easier. Just cut it out so there's nothing in the big oval opening. Easy stuff. It's better if you can look at someone's up close. That, or be like half of us, and just go nuts.

< $5 gutter guard user here...

Yeah, a knife works better. I phucking used an exacto knife!
But, I just got rid of the back part and "epoxied" the gutter guard w/ the remains of the grill.

Weight reduction... I guess...

I don't have any good clear pictures of the mesh, it's pretty dark because I didn't paint the mesh, but my friends BMW (above) you can clearly see the mesh we all used.
