My 2003 Honda Civic broke down on me last night. We were driving on the highway and all of a sudden when we pressed the gas it would just rev, it wouldn't go anymore. So we pulled off to the side and when we stopped it wouldn't do anymore. It revs when it's in Drive. Any clue what it might be? I don't want to take it to a mechanic who's going to screw me over!

Take it to a diagnostic place where they can tell you exactly whats wrong. Its hard to tell right off the bat especailly w/it being an auto. But you should be prepared to face the idea of getting a new transmission.
