Default static while radio is on.

i also posted this in the audio forum..but im sure someone can help me here.


im getting static only while the car is on and on am/fm, when i play a cd it doesnt happen. if i shut the car off but have the radio still on the static will go away...any advice, thanks.

sounds like somethign is interfering with the antenna, something that has power only when the car is on, how long has this been going on? and have you installed any thing electrical lately?

this started just now..i finished stripping out my interior...then i put back in my pass seat, then i drove around the block and this shiit started happenning...i havent installed anything, i ahve unistalled my vcr, and sub but that was last week.

that happens to me but it happen when im using teh AM/FM and i put on the rear defroster I get major static. I dont know what it is either, the peps in the audio forum said it might have been a bad ground but i checked it was all good. I woudl like to know too.

My guess is a bad grounding wire...or



it could be that your antenna connects in the back are loose.

i think its a loose wire..i think its on the switch of my am/fm modulator..so when i watch tv i go to a certain station and flip the switch so i can hear it on my speakers.

When you rev your engine does the static get louder? If so, you might want to consider changing your spark plug wires out because I've heard the 'frequency' on them can interfere with your frequency on your radio.
