I have this problem with my 98Civic. Somehow leaves getting into blower motor and they are causing strange noise. A little to the left from blower motor I noticed a little door and it looks like there was some kind of filter or something which is missing now. Anyone have any idea how to stop this garbage from going there?

 

Run your system in recirculation mode in stead of fresh air. Keep the leaves of you cowl.
