Default Warrenty and Mods on New Civic

I am buying a new 2003 civic si coupe (5spd) in the upcoming spring and i was hoping to put a few mods into the engine to upgrade its 127hp sohc 4 banger. The only problem is i want to keep the warenty valid on the car. Is there anyway to modify the engine but at the same time keep the warrenty valid? Also, any suggestions for mods would be helpful. Looking to get the most hp/ torque boost for the buck.

If it is an Si coupe with a 127hp engine then you must be canadian so it might be different for you. In the USA you can do add an intake(in other words anything before the throttle body) and anything after the catalytic converter. But like i said it might be different for you so might want to check with the province you are in and with honda of canada/north america. hope that helped

modifying your car will not void the warranty, however if something fails because of the mod, it is not covered.

Yup! Hes right! My tranny was screwy and had a bunch of mods and Honda took care of it! Also... If honda installs something then thats covered under the warranty! I know they install things from comptech and vortech and its still under warrantY! Layte!

So you can get honda dealers to install your mods for you then... hmmm.. i take it this will be really expensive? Also, what would it cost for a simple intake, and around how much hp will it add?

if the dealer installs it, it is no different, unless it is a honda part, then it is warrantied... if they were to intall a CAI (which they wont) then the same goes like i said before (except for this part is not warrantied by honda for its own defects)

I see.. as you can probably tell im fairly new to this whole thing.. thanks for your help and patience. What would you recomend doing in my situation ( Want more power but dont want to wreck the warranty). At first i wanted to buy a prelude but these days the newer ones are more expensive than when they were still making them and i dont want an older one.. and yes i do live in canada, B.C. so the civic si here is the same as the american civic EX.

the only thing really would be turbo... if somthing happens to your enging from it then your outta luck, unless you are dishonest and uninstall the turbo then present your problem..

unfortunately you have a 7th gen civic.

which means, basic bolt-ons (intake, header, exhaust)

wont do squat. (not that it did much on 6th gens, anyway)

and there really aren't any turbo kits out yet... you'll have to go custom.. which will run you 3-4 grand. and thats in US dollars.
edit: oh yeah, on average boost with stock internals (5-6 psi?) you'll get anywhere from 30-40 hp and torque is around the same gains too.. 20-30 lb.ft?

your civic is around 110hp to the wheels stock. that isn't too shabby compare to previous gens.

I remember reading HKS with a turbo manifold out.. but that could just be the manifold, not the kit... still helps though.

best bang for the buck, is, unfortunately, nitrous. (which will obviously void some warranties)

going fast isn't cheap, but for a 50 shot that'll cost like 500-800 bucks (depending on where u get it), it does more than an entire bolt-on of I/H/E that may run upwards to a grand.

personally, not to kill it. bolting on power in a civic isn't easy. its costly.... I suggest working on that wacky suspension our 7th gen has... and when a complete turbo kit or something else comes out later, your warranty will be gone already and you can go ahead use the money you save to buy that...

or get a new car. I duno.
