It depends on how much torque/power your engine produces. What is your power goal?

stock d16z6 can handle around 230 hp, any more than that you will start to break things

and thats around where i'd like to have my car around the 230 hp mark. I would do an engine swap to a b series or something like that but its hella expensive. But another question would be would it be cheaper to do a swap and turbo or just change rods, pistons, etc...... with the stock engine thanks to everyone for looking and replying!!!

it will take to boost just fine, it won't be anywhere near as powerful as a b-series turbo setup, but it should overpower a swap easily (I've seen 170-ish hp on here reliably)

you may want to think of setting the VTEC solenoid point lower than the stock setting to open both of the valves ASAP, but other than the VTEC-E system it's the same as any other D-series
