Default radiator leak

i jus installed a used high flow aluminum radiator but, problem is it has a small leak near the filler neck where the cap goes. There is a little hole and it leaks very little. I was wondering if there is any way i can repair the leak and what can I use. I dont wanna use the stop leak radiator crap that you jus add into the coolant cause i just dont trust that crap. so yeah jb weld wont handle the heat right??

Can you return it? Sounds like something that's just going to continue to mess up the pressure and cause continuous overheating.

I know they use solder to hold parts of rads together(and ensure good contact), not sure if it's lead like typical solder or tin or something :hsdunno: but I would think it would be safe to solder it.

I've very little soldering experience but that wouldn't create enough heat to cause a problem, just be sure to get good coverage (maybe more than one "coat") and the type of solder may matter as far as temp. and corrosion-resistance.

As far as I know, a solder would be the only thing to fix that. If you don’t have the tools and materials, it would be more practical to bring it to a shop. Those kinds of problem are the reason why I prefer taking a new honda del sol radiator than a used one. Used are cheap, but it would still make you spend much on repairs if it’s not in good condition, unless you were able to get them for free.

At this point you have to decide if it's worth having someone fix it or if you should return it for another one. I would find a radiator shop. Or someone with a tig welder.
