Default b20 swap into 94civic ex

Hey guys, I wanted to do a b20 swap into my Civic sedan and wanted to know if this is a good idea? My boy did it to his hatch and is running low 9's. If u think i should, let me know what all i'm gonna need to do this swap, and if you dont think i should, tell me why. thx.

Don't bullshit with us, we aren't stupid.

His setup would need well over a few grand put into it to have it running, and theres no way that thing is street bound. If he does have a hatch thats hitting 9's in the quarter good for him, but you're not getting that fast with just a B20.

The swap requires everything that any B-series swap does, the engine has a definite punch, but if I were swapping a B into a civic I would look into a b18 with a VTEC head, preferably a GSR/SiR-G

The B20 CR/VTEC and B18 LS/VTEC swaps ARE EXACTLY THE SAME THING!!!! The only difference between the two are the displacement which is only derived from the bore size. The B18 has an 81mm bore and the B20 has an 84mm bore. Both have the 89mm crank.

So..................look up the LS/VTEC or CR/VTEC swap on google for your info. This swap is a good idea as long as it is done right. Do not half ass it like so many people do because of low funds. Set aside or charge around $3000 for a PROPER build.

Once you put a NORMALLY ASPIRATED B20 in, expect around 13 seconds in a mildly lightweight hatch/sedan. Your 9 second claim on "your boys" car is impossible unless he had a large turbo in a gutted hatch.

not to be a dick, but 9 in the 1/8 is like 16-17 in the quarter, so a crazy retarted setup i would at least assume do better than that

There is no way to calculate this, I'd expect a car with that motor to be in the 15-16 second range with a decent driver. Regardless, it's going to be giving him a decent kick in the ass over what he has.

I still would rather see a VTEC enabled engine in there.
