Well im new to the board, i just picked up a new 95 Honda Dx, its a pretty sweet car but im wanting to beat my friend who has a 01 Trans Am WS6. Its like his pride and joy, and i would love to beat him. He doesnt really race it that much on the street, but he said if i really wanted to he would race me and kill me, so im wanting to figure out what i can do to beat him.

Right now my car is stock, and its a manual. His car is an auto, so i have the advantage there! Hopefully that will give me some help, what kind of person buys an auto sports car? Makes it so much slower haha.

Now im thinking i wont have to do much to keep up, they are heavy as hell unlike my civic, so like what would i have to do? How about I/H/E? Right now hes stock, Also, hes planning on doing some head and cam work over the summer or something, so id love to beat him after he does all of that too.

So what do i need to do? Whats a good intake and exhaust and header? I want to show him what an import can do. Also, i only have like 500 dollars to spend right now, but im hoping thats enough to beat him.

 

If you want to beat him sell your Civic. Did you look up what your car runs stock vs his stock? Trans Ams run like 13s 1/4 mile. Civic DX runs like 17s. So to make up 4 seconds with $500 is impossible.

But take it to the track. Don't street race. Street racers = stoopid.

 

you're in way over your head. you have a crappy dx that'll be lucky to break 17's. no amount of bolt on's can help you.

 

dude! r u dreaming? hahaha even if u have manual, and u r expert at shifting gear tht u can always get peak rpm, ur 500 can't save u. cuz tht bitch trans am has 305 hp stock. urs only 105 hp stock. ur 500 bucks gonna boost to wht? at most 120 hp. i say avoid the embressment. cuz i experienced tht the hard way. my g/f has fire bird, stock engine, intake, header and just some exterior like wheels and stuff. mine was swap b16, header, the whole chassis, no turbo though. and i couldn't accelerate the same. i'm tellin u man.

it's called a swap and boost. but it's far from cheap.

why do peole think that this stuff is cheap, even if you know your shit and bust your ass building a junk yard turbo setup, your still gonna end up spending some bux to generate enough power to be compariable to things like that ws6
