Default my POS failed smog

passed the 25mph part but not the 15mph. also passed the visual with the aem intake and dc header. the guy also said there's no timing marks on the crank pulley causing it to fail the ignition timing portion of the functional check. it's a stock pulley so i dont understand how there's no marks. maybe he just didnt see them? :hsdunno:

on to the results for the 15mph part...

HC (PPM)
max: 97
meas: 110

CO (%)
max: .59
meas: .49

NO (PPM)
max: 731
meas: 1098

i went for a little drive before taking the test just to get the cat warmed up. i have a free retest within the next two weeks so i think i'll do an oil change and spark plugs. any other ideas? :hs: :x:

Last time my Civic didn't pass Smog, I changed the plugs, oil and gas cap, and it passed. Asshole Smog guy was trying to sell me a CAT.

If you were rolling a D-series, I'd send you my spare exhaust manifold.

UPDATE:

i passed! all it took was a simple oil and plug change.

i told the guy to look closer for the crank pulley timing marks because last time he couldnt see them and took off the spark plug wire cover cause he also couldnt find the #1 wire last time.

results from today's test:

HC (PPM)
max: 97
meas: 83

CO (%)
max: .59
meas: .31

NO (PPM)
max: 731
meas: 669

much better. now i can get my registration.

another thing, when he checked the timing it ended up being at 12btdc instead of 16btdc. i think this could explain why the engine doesnt pick up like it should.
